Control the Number of TCP/IP Transmission Retries (Windows 95/98/Me)

This setting defines the number of transmission retries will be transmitted before the connection is aborted.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new string value named "MaxDataRetries" and set it to equal the number of retries, the default is 5.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Settings:
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Name: MaxDataRetries
Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
